A valley fringed with coconut trees and redbrick huts to the
north of Colva bay, Bogmalo is a small fishing village rapidly turning
into a successful tourist resort. A tiny whitewashed Chapel and number
of stray dogs of the village are still there yet the ambience has
completely assumed a different genre with the café-bars swinging
to the tunes of Western music that have sprung up in the area. A funky
nightlife is in store for those who are not here to seek seclusion and
quietness. The sands are cleaner and not much crowded and swimming in
the sea is safe here. The adventurous may try half-day 'Try Dives' of
the British run outfit at the far end of the beach meant for novices or
participate in the guided dives to shipwreck sites and coral beds off
the coast.
